Monitor the availability and performance of web pages of your web application. Applications manager checks if your website pages are accessible. When they are not accessible, notifications are sent and corrective actions can be triggered. Website performance monitoring feature checks for various attributes such as response time, etc. For example, you can add a URL, say http://mycompany/estore.jsp, for monitoring. You can set a threshold for a web page such that - if the page load time of that page is more than 5 seconds, you should be notified through an e-mail or SMS. This helps you in taking quick action before it affects end users.
When the URL Monitoring is performed, the Web page and its content is retrieved. A successful page retrieval assures you that your Web server is functioning properly. In addition to this, the URL Monitoring helps you verify that CGI scripts and back-end databases are functioning properly.
URL Sequence Monitoring
The purpose of URL Sequence is to monitor multiple web pages of an online application. Funcionamiento del Monitor Real de Exploradores
- Componentes del RBM – Barra de Herramientas para el Explorador (Internet Explorer), Agente a ser instalado desde donde la ejecución de grabaciones del Internet Explorer tiene que ser ejecutada y el Servidor de Applications Manager.
- Los Agentes del RBM tienen que ser instalados en una máquina de Windows exclusivamente para esa tarea – 256 MB de RAM, 1 GB de Disco Duro, con Internet Explorer 6 o superior. Sin embargo, Applicacions Manager puede ser instalado en Windows o Linux. Esto funciona con la Edición Professional y la Edición Enterprise (con un Servidor de Administración).
- Utilizando la Barra de Herramientas del RBM usted puede registrar las Secuencias URL requeridas y las acciones que típicamente harían los usuarios. Las acciones serán registradas como scripts web.
- El monitor Real de Exploradores se crea en el servidor de Applications Manager mandando a llamar los scripts web y los agentes requeridos. El Agente del RBM ejecutará los script web asociados, invocando el Internet Explorer. Las acciones registradas serán ejecutadas de nuevo en el explorador. Una vez que la ejecución es completada, el Agente del RBM actualizará los resultados de la ejecución (tiempo de respuesta, código de respuesta, etc.) en Applications Manager.
- La disponibilidad y el tiempo de respuesta de las URLs registradas será monitoreado de acuerdo al intervalo del sondeo establecido. Las alarmas se configuran en base a los umbrales. De este modo, si el estado de las URLs es crítico, las alarmas serán generadas.
- Algunas de las estadísticas de desempeño que son monitoreadas son: Promedio de Tiempo de Respuesta, Tiempo de Respuesta Actual, Tamaño Actual de la Página, porcentaje de cambio en el tamaño de la página, etc.
